About Paul
Paul fitness journey has been unconventional to say the least. Growing up, he was on the varsity swim team & water polo team, but his athletic endeavors were halted when he was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease. He played club water polo throughout college and was always in a weekend basketball league as a young professional, though it always felt like he was fighting against his own body and autoimmune disease. In 2021, after decades of battling Crohn's and being a pack-a-day-smoker, Paul found himself staring down the barrel of the big 4-0 and recovering from his second round of major surgeries for his IBD. He knew he was being offered a second change at health and it was time to make some lifestyle changes. He started running... and kept on
running until he made the jump from hospital bed to ultramarathon in 12 months. In year two of his running addiction, his wife Katie shared her Tower Fitness obsession and he got hooked, too. He was quick to see the benefits of strength training on his silly hobby of running up and down hills (and the occasional mountain). He also realized how special the Tower Fitness community was while he routinely watched his wife whip his ass in the daily WOD. His coaching style is cracking jokes the whole time.
